Brief

The packaging design developed for Sırma aimed to strengthen the brand’s presence in kitchens through a dynamic, playful, and approachable visual language. In the food sector, building emotional connection with consumers is as important as communicating reliability.

The design objectives included creating a warm and friendly brand identity through cheerful illustrated characters; developing a modern and eye-catching packaging system with vibrant colors connected to product content; and reinforcing the brand’s confidence with direct and engaging slogans such as “I’m number one in the kitchen :)”.

Speech bubbles and playful visual elements were integrated to differentiate the products within the category and establish a conversational tone with consumers. The overall design moved away from conventional oil packaging aesthetics, offering a more interactive and energetic shelf presence.

Insight

In traditional food categories like cooking oil, differentiation often depends on emotional storytelling rather than functional messaging alone. Consumers are drawn to brands that feel approachable, lively, and relatable in everyday kitchen routines.

With Sırma’s packaging, we introduced a character-driven and expressive design system that transforms a conventional product into a vibrant brand experience. The combination of bold typography, lively colors, and playful messaging creates strong shelf impact while positioning the brand as both trustworthy and modern.

Recognized with the 2023 Muse Design Awards Silver in Packaging Design, the project demonstrates how creative strategy can redefine a traditional category and build emotional resonance with consumers.
